Pastels of high quality offer an artist an unlimited array of colors. The traditional pastel artist may not be interested in the Sal-Zar Medium ™. Soft pastels in Sal-Zar are different and mere words cannot express adequately what the visual attributes are when done by a fine artist who uses the Sal-Zar Medium. I have not attempted to do portraiture pastels using the Sal-Zar Medium.

Experimental use of pastels with the Sal-Zar Medium will answer how the Sal-Zar works when pastel artists attempt to use traditional methods while using the Sal-Zar Medium.

The pigment of the soft pastels seems to blend beautifully in Sal-Zar. Direct sunlight does not seem to destroy the soft pastels when they are mixed in the Sal-Zar Medium.
