As I have been experimenting with spray enamel in Sal-Zar I have recognized that I am most likely producing work that it is not permanent. With the use of Sal-Zar Medium in soft, hard and oil pastels this is not the case. Is Sal-Zar, as a stand-alone material, permanent? See the technical instructions in Chapter 11 of this book. I must confess that I have also used spray enamels on canvas in Sal-Zar in a number of paintings I have done in the past. A reliable laboratory test for permanence has not yet been done.
