WOOK ON PAPER 2005 |

Work on Paper 2005: I often return to painting on paper, either with an acrylic ground, or a Sal-Zar ground, or Oil Gesso ground. For paper, I exclusively use Stonehenge™. I have a personal preference for this paper: acid free. For further discussion on conservation of works on paper see: Preserving Works on Paper (Preservation, Library of Congress) Paper has properties that enable an artist to create images that have a distinct character quite different then images produced on wood, or canvas. The public, unfortunately has a low regard for works on paper and often refuse to recognize that, if used correctly, and of sound quality, paper is better than canvas. Not linen canvas, but certainly cotton canvas, many canvases not properly prepared by artists. I have done several series on paper. One series I am continuing to develop, a visual presentation using modern technology “The Four Seasons of the Master Myth”.
I will be completing (hopefully) this project in Melbourne, Australia where I will be in residency in 2007. Mike Reed, of Mike Reed and Partners, has graciously offered his postproduction facilities so I can finish this opus. The idea for this project started in 1990 and in 2007 I will complete it showing the results in Australia and the USA. Chip Taylor Productions will market the DVD/VCR to schools, colleges and libraries in the USA. I will be showing a production at the International Gallery, www.masonlinegallery.org
