Works on Paper 2006

The images in the Series Works on Paper 2006 continue the many years of experimentation of how I can work images on paper. I use exclusively, Rising Stonehenge paper manufactured in Massachusetts. There are those who would refer to this paper as mediocre, compared to high-priced world-class brand names. This is not where I am coming from in the discussion. What works for me is Stonehenge and it does so because of my 20 years of experimentation with my Sal-Zar Medium

Now, that I have set the record straight: I prefer Stonehenge and will continue to use it in my work.

The Bush Congress [2006] of the “U S of A” is hopeless; the founders of the Constitution would have had them whipped, certainly tar-and-feathered. What has this Congress, under the leadership of this Bush Administration done? It is impossible to digest their miserable failures: history will note these! I simply am appalled at the inappropriateness and self-serving pieces of law that Congress, under the Republican leadership, both houses of disgrace has legislated. A Pox on Both Your Houses: From Romeo and Juliet. As Mercutio dies, he utters this phrase three times, cursing the families whose rivalry led to his death. The phrase is commonly applied to criticize warring factions whose rivalry brings ruin to others. The same curse can be levied on the Congress & Bush administration.

SOLUTION: Throw them all out!! The few good among this bunch will have to suffer the consequences!

A woman’s right to choose shouldn’t have to require all the rhetoric and inane arguments from the self-righteous we hear; backed by President Bush, and supporters of a ban on abortions! What a travesty this is! Save Rove v Wade

The title and influence for this painting came from the remark made by Charlie Crocker in Tom Wolf’s novel A Man in Full.

Take Care of this World All images in the 2006 Works on Paper Series are done on “Ampersand” with an oil gesso ground and measure 50X20 inches. The medium is Sal-Zar™. Mixed media. These images state unabashedly my thoughts and values as I turned septuagenarian and wondered why things were as they were.                  So:
