Works on Paper 2006

The images in the Series Works on Paper 2006 (image size 30×50 inches) continue my twenty-five years of experimentation on paper. I prefer Rising Stonehenge paper manufactured in Massachusetts. Stonehenge is a print paper and becuase of the way I paint it can stand many layers of application.

The Bush Congress [2006] of the U S of A is hopeless; the founders of the Constitution would have had them whipped, certainly tar-and-feathered. What has this Congress, under the leadership of this Bush Administration done? A Pox on Both Your Houses: From Romeo and Juliet. As Mercutio dies, he utters this phrase three times, cursing the families whose rivalry led to his death. [The phrase is commonly applied to criticize warring factions whose rivalry brings ruin to others.] The same curse can be levied on the Congress & Bush administration. (commentary by me 2006)

SOLUTION: Throw them all out! The few good among this bunch will have to suffer the consequences! In 2014 the action of the current Do Nothing Congress warants the same solution.
